It rained during the rally and because I am the most unprepared person ever, I got severely drenched. My friends and I tucked into a nearby coffee shop to get warm and have some tea.

And no, like I said in my previous entry, it wasn't a useless enterprise.

-------------------------------

My parents are coming home today from a 10-day out-of-town trip. Okay, okay. I am no longer ashamed to admit this, but I am a 'parents' boy.' I miss them when they're not with me. Huhu.

Of course, the first few days I'm giddy at the thought that I could go out and stay out without informing them or worrying them (yes, they still worry even though I'm 32 and could probably lift them both---especially during these murderous days).

And then I realize that, oh yeah, I'm a freaking antisocial creature who'd rather stay at home and read and listen to music and do chores and then of course, I wish my parents were with me. We don't even have to talk with each other. It's just comforting to me that they're nearby.

Oh but but but! I did manage to do a few outside-y things during the past two weeks. I did some yoga! That required a bit of human interaction. I attended the rally! Of course, a wall of 29,999 people were there with me so that's a social activity.

---------------------------------------

My friends also found Good Food Sundays in Mandala Park in Mandaluyong. It's a weekly food park that features a couple of vegan concessionaires. We went there, too.

Let me say first that upon turning vegan, I haven't had proper pizza. So that's two years of not biting into luscious crunchy-gooey-yummy goodness. Because, well, pizza requires cheese. I see images of vegan pizza on the internet from snazzy cities like New York, Berlin, or Portland, and I could only dream of tasting these creations while I munch on my self-created no-cheese Pizza on Project Pie.

(Sidenote: my Project Pizza go-to: dough, olive oil, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, caramelized onions)

And don't get me started on veganizing any of the pizzas in Yellow Cab, Pizza Hut, or Shakeys. They are not meant to be veganized.

So I was starting to accept my life as a non-pizza eating person when, in Good Food Sundays, I saw a booth for Indulge Pizza. All-vegan. They use their own version of cashew cheese that is sooooooooo yummy and, well, I still dream of their creations. I sampled their Trinity, which is a three-cheese pizza (I know! More than one cheese, how dare they?) and the Neatlovers' Pizza, which is my favorite.

I also bought a bottle of Cheese Pimiento spread from The Real Happy Cow. And can I just say that it's even better than the usual store-bought cheese spread.

I can't wait to go back!

-------------------------------------------

See, I can be outgoing.
